World Crown 300 is Set For This Weekend

This is the week short-track race fans have been looking forward to as the 27th-Annual World Crown 300 at Gresham Motorsports Park will take the green flag this Thursday through Sunday, November 11-14.

Fans are expected to start arriving for the nine-division stock car racing festival of speed when the GMP camping area is opened on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Camping for this great event is free of charge and will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

This year’s stock car racing spectacular – which will conclude with the 300-Lap Super Late Model event - will be held Sunday, November 14. Also added to this year’s World Crown 300 line-up will be a 125-Lap Pro Late Model clash on Saturday, November 13.

Presently, 30 drivers have already pre-entered Sunday’s World Crown 300 Super Late Model clash while 37 drivers have already indicated they will compete in Saturday’s first-ever World Crown Pro Late Model 125 battle.

Additional divisions competing in this year’s four-day stock car racing overload will be the US Legends International Legends and Bandoleros, Outlaw Late Models, Trucks and Renegade Street Stocks, Mini Stocks and Mini-Cups making this year’s ‘Crown’ one of the biggest season-ending weekend in the country.

The 2010 World Crown 300 weekend will roll off with a two-hour Super and Pro Late Model practice from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, November 11. Fans can view the practice free of charge from the GMP Trackside Parking area.

Friday’s action will feature World Crown championship events in the US Legends International Legends and Bandoleros, GMP Outlaw Late Models, Renegade Street Stock and Mini Stock divisions.

World Crown 300 will cap Friday’s on-track activities.

The Pro Late Model World Crown 125 – featuring a total purse of $35,000 including $7,000 to win - will burn up the GMP half-mile oval Saturday evening.

A 75-lap Truck Series main event paying $1,600 to win along with the always exciting Mini Cup cars will also highlight Saturday’s action.

The Main Grandstand and Trackside Parking gates for Sunday’s World Crown 300 will swing open at Noon. Opening Ceremonies will roar off at 1 p.m. with the World Crown finals of the Funopolis Fantastic Go Kart Showdown.

The 27th-Annual World Crown 300 will take the green flag at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Tickets for this weekend’s ‘Crown’ are available on line at - and at the
Gresham Motorsports Park at-track Administrative Offices this week from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
