Longtime Super Late Model short-track ace Wayne Anderson is the latest driver to post an entry for the World Crown 300 at Gresham Motorsports Park on Sunday, November 14.
Anderson, a Wildwood, FL resident, is coming off a big season winning four of nine events and the 2010 Sunoco FAST Series championship. Anderson had eight top-five finishes and an average finishing position of 4.1 in the nine Florida races.
Anderson will join what is shaping up to be one of the best fields in the 27-year history of the World Crown 300. Also joining Anderson in the most recent batch of entries is 2010 Gresham Motorsports Park Super Late Model season champion Bubba Pollard and Augie Grill, who won earlier this year at GMP.
Ross Kenseth, the son of NASCAR Sprint Cup star Matt Kenseth, Oklahoma’s Tanner Berryhill, and Stanley Smith and Josh Hamner from Chelsea, AL have also filed recent entries to this year’s ‘Crown.’
So far, 25 Super Late Model teams from 10 states have pre-entered the race which returns to a 300-lap, live pit stop Super Late Model event this year.
“I’m excited about the fact that we are going to run both Super and Pro Late Models,” said Dan Elliott, general manager at Gresham Motorsports Park. “Saturday’s 125-lap Pro race will allow fans to see a great warm up to the World Crown 300 – a race that is more than two times as long on Sunday. Plus you get to see the Pro cars run under the lights on Saturday. Add in testing on Thursday along with all the great action of six divisions of racing on Friday and it’s going to be four days of awesome racing - some of the best anywhere this season.”
Meanwhile, the list of drivers competing in the first-ever World Crown 125 Pro Late Model event on Saturday, November 13 also continues to grow.
The 2008 World Crown 300 champion – Russell Fleeman of Dacula, GA – and hometown Jefferson, GA racer Nick Potts lead a list of 11 new entries for the Saturday night Pro Late Model 125 shootout.
Also filing entries in the last week were Ronnie Whitlock from Colleyville, TX, Jerrod Folley from Mooresville, NC, NASCAR Truck and Nationwide Series veteran Willie Allen from Nashville, TN, Virginia’s David Quackenbush and Kenzie Ruston of Mooresville, NC.
So far, 28 entries have been received for the World Crown 125 Pro Late Model event with more drivers and team pre-registrations expected in both the Super and Pro divisions in the coming days.
