Leads From Flag to Flag
Series PR Report

The United States Super Trucks presented by, invaded the Milwaukee Mile for the Safety Kleen 50 Lap Feature on July 17th 2010. Larry Fitzsimmons set the fast time in qualifying, and started the race from the pole in his J&D Chassis/Raceday Graphics machine.  Joey Shuryan in his Shuryan Racing/ IS Motorsports lined up alongside the front row in the second spot, while DRE Rocker Arms sponsored Truck of Eric Caudell rolled away from the line in the third position.

Paul Korzenko, from Safety Kleen, drove the Safety Kleen Commercial “Pace Truck” leading the field for its warm up laps and it was a definite fan favorite.  A large contingent of Safety Kleen Employees and Staff were on hand to enjoy the day’s events. Tony Ullenberg, Safety Kleen Branch Manager, stated they could not wait for the United States Super Trucks return to the Milwaukee Mile in September.

When USST National Series Flagman Jay Shaffer dropped the green flag, Fitzsimmons took full advantage of a clean start and led the field going into turn one. Shuryan pursued him but would soon have to battle Caudell for the second position. Caudell was able to get by Shuryan, and set his sights on Fitzsimmons. However, Fitzsimmons was too strong and Caudell did not have enough laps to catch the Crystal, Minnesota driver.

Fitzsimmons was able to get through the lapped traffic without any issues and held on to score the victory, going flag to flag in the caution free event. Caudell finished second with Shuryan in third. Camden Murphy finished fourth in his O’Hare Auto Body/Mark Signs entry, while Bill Collins rounded out the top five in his Interstate Truck Driving School sponsored Chevy.
