Improvements Take Place at Winchester Speedway
Season to Kick Off With May CRA Super Series Event
Track PR Report
There are some facility improvements taking place at Winchester Speedway by owner Charlie Shaw in preparation for the upcoming 2010 race season. The deteriorating area of the pit wall from the front stretch cross over gate toward turn one has been torn down and will be replaced with a new section. This will eliminate any track rentals for testing until April 19th.
The wood floor in the spotters stand has all been removed and will be replaced with concrete to make it a more permanent support for the spotters and others using the stand. The handicapped area of the main men’s restroom for the grandstand area is being brought up to code.
The 2010 season is set to begin on May 1st and May 2nd. There will be an open practice on Saturday, May 1st for any divisions competing at Winchester Speedway during the 2010 season. Pits open at 11am and practice will go from 1 to 5pm. There will be a Richmond Cup Race Party in the Pavilion Saturday night.
On Sunday, May 2nd the CRA Super Series will be in action with the Manning Service 100. NASCAR Legend Bill Elliott will be on hand to sign autographs with son Chase, who will be competing in the Manning Service 100. Also racing on May 2nd will be the CRA Street Stocks and the Vores Welding & Steel CRA FWD Compacts. Pits open at 8:30am on Sunday, spectator gates open at 10am, practice will begin at 10:30am, and the race program will begin at 2pm.
