Fly In To Add Excitement To World Crown 300
Gresham Motorsports Park Event to Feature Some
Extra Excitement in the Skies Over The Track
Track PR Report

While there is sure to be plenty of on-track action at the 27th-Annual World Crown 300, there will be a host of thrills in the skies above Gresham Motorsports Park as well during the Saturday, November 13 portion of the four-day racefest.

Thanks to the Autumn Fly-In and Aviation Day at the Jackson County Airport, the skies around GMP will be loaded with airplanes on November 13. Presented by the Jackson County Aviation Association, the fifth-annual event will feature somewhere between 50 and 100 single engine experimental, vintage and modern airplanes. There will also a car show with more than 50 vehicles, airplane rides, exhibits, vendors and kid activities.

Last year’s Fly In at the Lyle Field location drew a crowd of more than 3,000 and attendance estimates for this fall’s Autumn Fly In on Saturday, November 13 are in the 4,000-5,000 range.

“This is a free event, no admission charged,” said Glenn Boyd, Jackson County Airport Manager. “We do request people give a donation and this year, those monies will be donated to the Jackson County Boys and Girls Club. It’s going to be a great event.”

The Fifth-Annual Autumn Fly In and Aviation Day at the Jackson County Airport will run from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on November 13. According to GMP general manager Dan Elliott, the event is sure to give fans attending the World Crown 125 Pro Late Model race a special treat

“We’re encouraging all of our fans to come out early on Saturday, November 13,” Elliott stated. “The Fly In starts at nine that morning and our first round of Late Model practice rolls off at 10. The Jackson County Airport is right across the street from GMP, so fans can come early, tailgate, and enjoy a great air show and racing program all in one location.”

The Pro Late Model division will practice throughout the day Saturday, November 13 at GMP with the World Crown 125 later that evening. World Crown championship Truck and Mini-Stock division events will also highlight Saturday’s racing action.

The 2010 World Crown 300 weekend will roll off with a two-hour Super and Pro Late Model practice on Thursday, November 11 from 5-7 p.m.
Friday’s action will be highlighted by US Legends International Legends and Bandoleros, Mini-Cup, Outlaw Late Model and Renegade Street Stock division World Crown championship events.
Pole position qualifying for Sunday’s Super Late Model World Crown 300 will cap Friday’s on-track activities.

Sunday’s World Crown 300 event will begin with the gates swinging open at Noon. Opening Ceremonies are set for 1:30 p.m. with the green flag falling at 2 p.m.
