Track PR Report

In just under a month Berlin Raceway will host the largest event in its storied 60 year history. The Marne fairgrounds is set to entertain race fans from around the Midwest for the mid-week special, as well as NASCAR superstars Kyle Busch, AJ Allmendinger, Bill and Chase Elliott and more are expected.

For the second annual summer special, the new Modified division has been added to the lineup of activities. The division, which is sponsored by Model Coverall, is the latest addition to the regular weekly lineup of cars at Berlin Raceway, which is situated just 15-minutes north of Grand Rapids in the suburb of Marne.

The Modifieds will race in this special event for 50-laps, with a potential of $3,000-to-win with 30 cars or more and $2,000-to-win with 29 or fewer cars. NASCAR star AJ Allmendinger is slated to compete in the race, driving for NASCAR MRN Radio turn announcer Jeff Striegle, Berlin PA track announcer Norm Jelsma and local chassis builder owner Mike Bursley. The #97 Modified carries Helen DeVos Children's Hospital onboard, and will see Allmendinger make his first attempt behind the wheel of the Modified.

"Berlin is a track I have heard so much about," said AJ Allmendinger. "This is a great cause for a great resource in West Michigan and I hope we raise a lot of money. I want to make this a very special night and with that look forward to meeting many of the hospitals families and kids especially,"

The Rowdy's Revenge 251 will be run in two segments; the first half 125 laps and the second 126. Instead of a standard 10-minute break though, Berlin officials have decided to shake things up by placing the Modified feature event in between the first and second segments.
