Pre-Entered Drivers List Continues Grow For 20th Annual Coors Light Montana 200
Super Late Models Prep for Summer Time Clash In the Northwest
Track PR Report

Over 24 drivers have pre-entered for the 20th Annual Coors Light Montana 200 including four champions with six titles amongst them. With two weeks left in the pre-entry discount campaign the list of participating drivers will continue to grow for the West Coast's premier late model event.

"To have this kind of response in the first two weeks of our pre-entry discount campaign has been unbelievable," said promoter and general manager Justin Rody. "We expect to see the drivers list grow over the last two weeks of this special. The 20th Annual Coors Light Montana 200 is fast becoming the must see race of 2010 and we're excited to have this level of commitment from the race teams with four weeks to go before the green flag."

Leading the charge will be three-time and defending race winner, Gary Lewis. The four-time late model touring champion has claimed over $50,000 in prize money at Montana Raceway Park since 2007, but could again be challenged by his closest competitors from last season.

Cory Wolfe (1994 Montana 200 champion) ran second to Lewis with Mark Owens (1995 Montana 200 champion) right on Wolfe's bumper in third as the duo chased the eventual race winner right down to the checkered flag. Both men have entered the race in their attempt to claim a second 200 championship.

Also entered in the event is the winner of the 44th Annual Yakima Speedway Apple Cup, Jason Fraser, three-time Inland Northwest Super Stock Association champion David Garber, two-time NASCAR Whelen All-American champion Eric Schmidt, two-time Yakima Speedway champion Owen Riddle, defending Lucas Oil MRP Super Late Model champion, Alex Lessor and 1998 Montana 200 champion Tim Elliott.

Drivers interested in saving on their registration to the 2010 Montana 200 can download an entry blank from the track's website. Information including securing of car numbers, pit space, rules, purse, tires and payment methods are included in the packet. Completed registrations can be mailed or faxed back to Montana Raceway Park but must be postmarked or received via a fax by midnight July 5 to take advantage of the discounted entry price.

2010 Montana 200 festivities get underway Thursday, July 15 with the State Farm Insurance Fanfest beginning at 5 p.m. This event includes a free dinner for fans and race teams, an on-track autograph session, live music and other highlights.

Returning for its second consecutive summer will be a live broadcast of the Montana 200 on Montana Country 106.3 The Bear with live audio available on the track's website at no charge.
