Pro Shocks Shock of the Week
This Week's Big Surprise in Short Track Racing
As Decided by the Staff of

Every week, our esteemed panel at will determine the most improbable, fascinating or "shocking" moment from the week and award the Pro Shocks "Shock of the Week."  The winner each week will receive a product gift certificate from Pro Shocks, the leader in short track shock technology and performance.  At the end of the season, the most "shocking" moment will be awarded the "Shock of the Year" and the winning driver will receive a special gift from Pro Shocks.

For this week's "Shock of the Week..."
When it came to winning the ARCA Racing Series event at Berlin Raceway (MI) last Saturday night, it wasn't a veteran like Frank Kimmel or a hometrack hero like Brian Campbell who headed to victory lane at the end of the race - it was first time victor Joey Coultier winning the event.

That performance earned Joey Coultier this week's Pro Shocks "Shock of the Week" award.

Coultier scored a strong victory among our panelists this week.

Also receiving votes this week were:

Timmy Solomito (Mods) - After a season full of bad luck and disappointment, Riverhead Raceway (NY) Modified driver Timmy Solomito scored his first victory of 2010 on Saturday night.  It came one year to the day after what had been his most recent win.  That earned him a vote from our panel and an honorable mention in this week's Pro Shock "Shock of the Week" award competition.

Ricky Brooks and the South Alabama Speedway Technical Inspection Staff -  What the technical inspection crew found in Korey Ruble's car during the Viper Series Pro Late Model race and then disqualified him from a second place finish for earned one vote this week.  Here is what one of our panelists had to say:

"Ricky Brooks finds an ignition box to be 'significantly altered'.  Cheating in the ignition box/traction control have become the "Holy Grail" of tech finds...kudo's to him for finding what others have failed to find and letting all the racers doing it right compete on a level playing field."

The ARCA Racing Series Points Race -  The sheer tightness of the ARCA Racing Series points race led to this vote from one of our panelists:

"The ARCA points race [gets my vote]. The top seven guys are within 100 points. I guess I'm still expecting Frank Kimmel runaways."

For his “Shock” of a performance, Joey Coultier will receive a product gift certificate from Pro Shocks, the short-track leader in racing shock technology and performance.  Based in Lawrenceville, Georgia, Pro Shocks has helped drivers on both dirt and asphalt perform better for more than 25 years.
