Who? Kyle Bonsignore Takes Third at Greenville
Unless you have attended every PASS South race this year, you may not have heard of Kyle Bonsignore. The journeyman driver made some real noise at Greenville by coming out of nowhere to score his a career-best third-place finish. Perhaps he will now be considered as a contender each time out in a Super Late Model.
Preston Peltier Logs Another Top Five Finish
The point leader always looks at the schedule and knows where the trouble points in the season can be. So far Preston Peltier has worked his way around all the problems and leads the standings with five races to go. Peltier has seven top-five finishes and an average finish of 3.75 after his fourth-place run at Greenville.
Unusual Day for Chase Elliott at Greenville
Chase Elliott had a very interesting day at Greenville-Pickens Speedway. Just a handful of laps into practice, the driver who has had all the luck this season broke a lifter on his primary car. In just a matter of minutes, the team rolled out the back-up car and were on the track before the first 45 minute session ended.
Elliott paced the second practice and won the pole in time trials in the back-up car which made a lot of people drop their jaws. In the race however, Elliott back slid, lost a lap and finished 15th a lap down. The biggest issue was that the car had too much motor and burned the rear tires off way too early.
-Defending race winner Jay Fogleman dropped out early after suspension trouble. This will be a serious blow for him in the points.
-Trey Mitchell scored a sixth-place finish, his fourth top 10 finish of the 2010 season. He is in the top 10 in points despite missing one race.
-PASS South will return to action on August 7th at Newport Speedway (TN). This will be the first of two events there this season.
-Former Track Champion Randy Porter came from the last chance race to finish eighth in the main event.
