CRA PR Report
Perfect Circle Racing has announced that they will compete fulltime with the CRA Super Series in 2010 with the goal of winning the 2010 CRA Super Series Points Championship with Wyoming, Michigan driver Brian Campbell. Perfect Circle Racing, with owner Mike Bursley, is coming off a very successful 2009 season, winning the 2009 ASA Late Model Challenge Series Championship in their first season with Campbell after purchasing the template racing assets of Mike Blackmer, Campbell’s former team owner.
Campbell has been one of the top template late model drivers in this part of the country for several seasons including getting three wins with the CRA Super Series. Campbell got his first win with CRA at Kalamazoo Speedway in 2006, and then got victories at his home track Berlin Raceway in the Boyne at Berlin 125 in October of 2008, his final race for Blackmer and in last years Rowdy Busch 125 with Perfect Circle Racing. Brian’s father Fred, a ten time track Champion at Berlin, is tied for sixth on the CRA Super Series all time victory list with seven wins, including a series leading three wins at Berlin.
“I am really looking forward to the challenge of running full-time with the CRA Super Series this season,” remarked Campbell. “I have run a few races each season the past several years, but this will be a new venture for us, competing at all the series events. I am really excited about the upcoming 2010 season.”
Campbell has been a winner in both template late models and outlaw late models at Berlin. Campbell has numerous wins with ASA and was the Pat Schauer Rookie of the Year in 2005. Campbell has also won of two of the most prestigious outlaw late model events in the country, the Glass City event at Toledo Speedway and the Main Event at Columbus Motor Speedway.
“We are very happy to have Perfect Circle Racing and Brian Campbell racing fulltime with CRA in 2010,” remarked Glenn Luckett, Director of the CRA Super Series. “Brian and his father Fred are first class racers, we always enjoyed having them race with us on a part-time basis in the past and really look forward to having Brian as a fulltime competitor with us in 2010. The Perfect Circle Racing team really adds a lot to our series!”
Perfect Circle Racing is based out of Jenison, Michigan at Perfect Circle Racecars which recently signed on as the sponsor of the CRA Super Series 2010 Rookie Award Program. Veteran Crew Chief Bill McGowan will be turning the wrenches on the #20 Perfect Circle cars for Campbell while his father Fred will be the Tire Specialist. The team got an early start on the 2010 season by competing in the open practice at Anderson Speedway last Saturday.
