ASA Midwest Tour Returns to Action This Weekend
Series Regulars Have Been Tearing Up the Short Tracks on Break
Series PR Report
After five weeks off, the American Speed Association® Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment and grandstay.net is ready to get back to racing as the Tour heads to Elko Speedway for the "Elko 100" presented by grandstay.net this Saturday night, June 5th.

Last year, ASA Midwest Tour Swiss Colony Touring Star, Steve Carlson took home both the ECHO/Oregon Cutting Systems "Quick Cut" Qualifier Award and the victory in the 125 lap event, the first of two stops at Elko Speedway in 2009. The West Salem, WI native held off Minnesota hometown heroes, Jake Ryan, Dan Frederickson, Donny Reuvers, Jonathan Eilen, and Adam Royle for the victory.

Many ASA Midwest Tour drivers and teams did not take the past five weeks off from supporting their local racing venues. Several drivers have been tearing up the competition and proving they are still successful at their local short tracks. 2009 ASAMT Champion, Steve Carlson has been busy supporting his local home track, Lacrosse Fairgrounds Speedway taking home the checkered flag two weeks in a row. Rookie contender, Ross Kenseth has been busy wracking up his share of victories as well. Kenseth won the CRA event in his first ever visit to Winchester Speedway several weeks ago. Mark Kraus was also spending time supporting his local short track and found victory lane at Marshfield Speedway.

Elko is home to many regular ASA Midwest Tour competitors and several took the opportunity to race during the track's regular Saturday night events. Donny Reuvers, Joel Theisen and Dan Frederickson took the top three spots in the Super Late Model Feature on May 8th, and Frederickson backed it up with a victory the following Saturday night. Jeff Storm and Ross Kenseth headed to Elko Speedway for a regular Saturday night program on May 22nd. Kenseth adapted to the track quickly taking home a clean-sweep in his first ever visit to the 3/8-mile oval. He claimed fast time, won his semi-feature, and took home the victory in the main event. Jeff Storm also took home victory in his semi-feature event and finished 14th in the feature event. ASA Midwest Tour Swiss Colony Touring Star, Jonathan Eilen and ASAMT competitor, Donny Reuvers took home second and third in this past Saturday night's feature event.

After one event, Steve Carlson holds a seven point lead over Rookie contender Ross Kenseth and an eight point lead over Touring Star, Chris Wimmer. Saturday is sure to be an exciting night of racing as all of the ASA Midwest Tour drivers come back together to kick off the remainder of their season.

Fans are encouraged to participate in the ASA Midwest Tour "Text to Win" at Elko Speedway. Simply text the word ELKO to 35350 to be registered to win a 42" plasma TV on race day. Participants must be present to win.

The ASA OREGON Midwest Truck Tour will join the ASA Midwest Tour Super Late Models for the Elko 40L presented by grandstay.net. The race will be televised on Fox Sports North and Fox Sports Wisconsin on Saturday, June 19th at 11:30AM CDT.
