Chris Clark is Named Announced for ASA Midwest Tour
25-Year Veteran Voice to Hit The Tour This Season
Series PR Report
The American Speed Association® Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment and Grandstay® Residential Suites Hotels welcomes Chris Clark as the 2010 series announcer. This year commemorates Clark's 25th year of announcing racing events throughout the Midwest.

Our 2008 and 2009 series announcer, Matt Panure, did a great job for the series and was a lot of fun to work with and be around. "Matt Panure is very talented and did a great job for us the last two years. We enjoyed his upbeat humor and he could always put a smile on everyone's face," stated Steve Einhaus, ASAMT Vice President. Matt has recently graduated from college and is focused on entering the corporate world. However, he has offered to help fill in with some of the support division stand alone events during the 2010 season. Everyone involved with the ASAMT looks forward to seeing Matt this season and would like to wish him well as he pursues his future.

Chances are if you have been to races throughout the Midwest, you have heard the famous words "and weeeee're racin'!" Chris Clark's motorsports announcing career started at Rockford Speedway in 1986. In 1988 he added the ARTGO Challenge Series/NASCAR Touring Series to his plate and announced for 16 years for each venue respectively. Clark has had the privilege of calling races for many great short-track drivers over the years. "Some of the names have changed over the years, but the excitement never changes. I see the Joe Shears, Dick Trickles, Schuler brothers, Butch Millers and a long list of others in the product that is on the track today," stated Clark.

In addition to Midwest short-track racing, Clark has been the voice of such events as the I-Power Dash Series, both the NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide series as well as various NASCAR Camping World Truck series races at various tracks throughout the nation. He has also done his share of college and high school broadcasts for football, basketball, baseball, and even hockey. Since graduating from college Chris has announced just over 2,500 events.

Clark is also the host of the ever popular and nationally listened to weekly radio show, the "Race Review". The show will have an emphasis on the ASAMT and feature special guests from time to time, however the "Race Review" is listener driven so feel free to call in anytime to discuss anything racing. Check it out and listen online every Monday night at 7PM by logging on to www.kchkradio.net, click on Streaming, and then choose "Race Review".

Vice President of the ASAMT, Steve Einhaus is looking forward to the addition of Clark to the ASAMT team. "Chris Clark is one of the most well known announcers in the country around the short track world and he is so passionate about seeing the ASA Midwest Tour stay successful. He's the first one to stand up and offer to help any where he can on race day and he'll be the first one in line when the sun comes up and the last to leave at night. That is true dedication and we are very confident that he will be a great asset to our series and the competitors."

Clark is excited about joining the ASAMT this season and having the chance to work with a premiere touring series. "I'm really looking forward to being a regular part of the ASAMT. As far as I'm concerned, this is the premiere racing series in the country. It's been great over the years to see some of these guys go on to what is considered "bigger and better", but I truly believe while there might be bigger, there just isn't any better!"

"Chris Clark is not only well respected in the racing community, but is an outstanding announcer and has a stellar background in the booth. He always gets the fans going and involved in the racing action. We are very excited to have landed him as the new voice for the ASA Midwest Tour," stated Tim Olson, President of the ASAMT.
In addition to his enthusiasm for racing and the series, Clark is looking forward to helping drivers and teams build their sponsorship relationships and future potential. "We're talking about implementing a few twists that will make it easier for the teams to promote their sponsors, which should help generate even stronger sponsorship ties in the future."

So be sure to listen for those famous words from the voice of Chris Clark as the 2010 ASA Midwest Tour racing series kicks off.
