The month of June starts off with a busy weekend in ASA Racing. Many of the ASA Sanctioned Series and Member Tracks will be in action. Summer is the time to be outdoors and why not enjoy it at your local short track.
Here is a look at what is happening in ASA this weekend.
ASA MIDWEST TOUR (SUPER LATE MODELS & TRUCK TOUR)
(Elko Speedway, Elko, MN)
After a one month break, the month of June will be a busy one for the ASA Midwest Tour as they will have four big events in four weeks in four different states for the Super Late Model Series. This Saturday night, they will make their only appearance of the season at Elko Speedway in Elko, MN. 2009 Champion Steve Carlson will be looking to make it two in a row this season. He will be challenged by Dan Fredrickson, who won the last ASAMT event at Elko and along with the best Super Late Model drivers in the Midwest. The ASA Midwest Truck Tour will also be in action with their second event of the season.
ASA NORTHWEST SPRINT CAR RACING ASSOCIATION
(Meridian Speedway, Meridian, ID)
The super fast asphalt winged sprint cars will be the feature division at the 22nd Annual Diamond Cup this Friday and Saturday night at Meridian Speedway, an ASA Member Track in Meridian, ID. As of this release, there is an $800 bounty for the first driver who dips into the 10-second territory during qualifying on the newly paved quarter-mile oval. It's one of the biggest open wheel events in the Boise area.
ASA TRUCK SERIES
(The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Las Vegas, NV)
The points battle between teammates will be contested this Saturday night at the famous Bullring at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Dylan Kwasniewski and his teammate Joey Licata are tied with the points lead heading into The Bullring event. A 75-lap event may break that tie or allow a new star to shine this weekend.
ASA INTERSTATE RACING ASSOCIATION SPRINT CAR SERIES
(Oshkosh SpeedZone, Oshkosh, WI)
After a busy three day race weekend over Memorial Day, the ASA IRA Sprint Cars will be in action Friday night at the Oshkosh SpeedZone in Oshkosh, WI, their only event this weekend. A great points battle is already happening as Billy Balog and Scotty Neitzel are tied for the points lead while Mike Reinke is only five points behind.
ASA MEMBER TRACKS
The Pro All-Star Series (PASS) will be making their first appearance to Ace Speedway this Friday night for a 150-lap feature event. The PASS divisions, Bandolaro, Legends, Modifieds and Extremes will be in action. You can get a 2-for-1 coupon at local Chick-Fil-A and O'Reilly Auto Parts Stories for this Friday night.
BIG COUNTRY SPEEDWAY
NAPA Challenge Night this Saturday night at Big Country Speedway. The Grand American Modifieds, Super Stocks, Mod 4's, Warriors, and Super Lite Trucks are in action with racing starting at 6 p.m.
CORPUS CHRISTI SPEEDWAY
(Corpus Christi, TX)
The Bombers, Front Runners, Sport Mods, Super Street, Texas Thunders will be in action this Saturday night. Gates open at 6:00 p.m. with racing at 8:00 p.m.
DELLS RACEWAY PARK
(Wisconsin Dells, WI)
The Late Models, Sportsman, Pure Stocks, Bandits & Six Shooters will be in action on Original Wisconsin Ducks Night this Saturday night. Pits open at 2 p.m., Fan gates open at 4 p.m. with qualifying at 4:30 p.m. Racing at 6:30 p.m.
DESOTO SUPER SPEEDWAY
It's Sysco Night this Saturday night. The School Bus Figure 8's, Open Wheel Modifieds, Pure Stocks, Bombers, Street Stocks, Mini Stocks, Modified Minis, Trophy Dash Cars will be in action.
DILLON MOTOR SPEEDWAY
NAPA Auto Parts will be sponsoring the racing action this Saturday night. The Super Trucks, Late Models, Chargers, 4-Cylinder, Mini Cup, Jr. Bombers, and Street Stocks will all be in action on the 4/10-mile oval.
EAST BAY RACEWAY PARK
ASA Sanctioned racing returns to East Bay Raceway Park on Saturday, June 5th, 2010 with the Racecar Engineering Late Models, Gagel's Open Wheel Modified, Outlaw 4's, Motorstats.com 4 Cylinder Bombers and the always popular Fan Participation Races.
GRAYS HARBOR RACEWAY
It's Fan Appreciation Night this Saturday night. The Sprints, Modifieds, Hobby Stocks, Midgets, and Hornets will be in action. Autograph Session on the front stretch, great giveaway prizes, Seattle Mariner, Tacoma Ranier Tickets, Dierks Bentley, Doobie Brothers and Hall & Oats concert tickets and many other great prizes!!!
Gate times: The back gate on all local races will open at 2:30 pm. The pill draw and tech will end at 4:00 pm, the drivers meeting starts at 4:15, qualifying at 5:30, racing at 6:30 pm. Front gate opens at 4:30 pm.
HARTFORD MOTOR SPEEDWAY
The Topless UMP Late Models & UMP Modifieds will be competing this Friday night along with the Stock Cars and Pure Stocks. General admission gates open at 5 pm, hot laps for UMP Late Models, and Pure Stocks, racing begins at 8 pm.
"School's Out Special" this Saturday night. Free admission up to 18-years-old with student ID's. The Late Models, Sportsman, Mini Stocks, Hornets, and Legends will be in action. Grandstands open at 3 p.m.
ILLIANA MOTOR SPEEDWAY
The 8th Annual Food Drive is this Saturday night. Bring in any non-perishable food item and receive tickets for a chance to win prizes and race tickets. Six divisions will be in action this Saturday night. The Late Models, Limited Late Models, Turbo Stox, Legends, Pure Stocks and Bandoleros will all be in action. Gates open at 4:00 p.m. with the first race at 7:00 p.m.
LEBANON I-44 SPEEDWAY
Another great night of racing action is planned for this Saturday night. All divisions will be in action with gates opening at 5 p.m., hot laps at 6 p.m. and races starting at 7:30 p.m.
LONESOME PINE RACEWAY
This weekend's racing action has been cancelled. The regular racing action will return next Saturday, June 12th.
MADISON INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY
The Friday Night Tradition will take place on Wisconsin's Fastest Half-Mile and their quarter-mile "Ring of Fire." The Late Models, Area Sportsman, Hobby Stocks, Bandits and Legends will be in action. Racing begins at 7:30 p.m.
The 22nd 96.1 BOB FM Diamond Cup will take place this Friday and Saturday night. The ASA NSRA Winged Sprints will be in action both days. On Friday, the Vintage Sprints, Project Filter Pro-4's, and Domino's Legends will join the Winged Sprints. On Saturday, the Naylor Memorial Pepsi Sprintcars, CWI Professional Street Stock, Mini Stocks and Jr. Stingers will be in action. Gates open at 4:00 p.m. with racing starting at 6:00 p.m. on both nights.
The first Friday night event of the 2010 season will take place this Friday night with the Late Models, Super Stocks, Slammers and Fab-4's in action. Time Trials at 6:00 p.m. with racing at 7:30 p.m.
ORANGE SHOW SPEEDWAY
(San Bernardino, CA)
Orange Show Speedway and Best in the West Racing will kick off a long, hot summer of racing this Saturday (June 5) with round five of the season for the Super Late Models. They'll be joined by the Team Too Pony Stocks, Stock OHV Karts, Dwarf Cars and Stock Cars USA (for both oval and Figure 8 races), and a crowd-pleasing Trailer race for dessert. David Ross has won three of the four Super Late Model events and Robby Hornsby Jr. is unbeaten in four Team Too Pony Stock outings. Gates open to the public at 4 p.m., the on-track autograph session is from 5:50 to 6:30 p.m. and the first race is scheduled for 7 p.m.
RED RIVER SPEEDWAY
(North Wichita Falls, TX)
Racing action returns this Saturday night after taking Memorial Day weekend off. The USST Truck will be in action.
ROCKY MOUNTAIN RACEWAYS
(West Valley City, UT)
Maverik Modifieds return to Rocky Mountain Raceways' ultra-fast, paved oval Saturday, June 5 for the ASA Weekly Racing Series. #30 Nick Parker from Kearns, Utah is the current Maverik Modifieds point leader. Parker has a three-point lead over #84 Mark Ith Jr. from West Jordan, Utah. #41 Michael Haddenham is currently third in points followed by #50 Roger Wilson and #7 Bryan Wordelman tied for fourth. Parker is currently in third for the western region track leaders of the Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil ASA Member Track National Championship. RMR classes running this weekend include Maverik Modifieds, DEX Mini Cups, Legends, Focus Midgets and Hornets. Gates open at 4pm. Qualifying begins at 5pm and racing starts at 6pm. Adult admission is $15 and youth (5-12) are $5. Rocky Mountain Raceways is Utah's premiere motorsports venue for oval racing, drag racing, motocross racing, monster trucks and drifting.
SHANGRI LA II MOTOR SPEEDWAY
(Tioga Center, NY)
The "Saturday Shootout" on June 5 will see the first heat race take the green flag at 5:30 p.m. sharp. Modifieds, ASA Late Models, Sportsman, Modifieds, and Street Stocks will be part of the ASA Member Track racing program.
The John Carroll Classic presented by IRI will highlight the racing action this Saturday night. Foothills Toyota Tundra Racing Series - Round 8 with Fire Breathing Sprint Cars and Outlaw Hornets gets underway at 7 p.m.
SOUTHERN OREGON SPEEDWAY
It's Umpqua Dairy Kids Night at the Races where kids ages 7-12 will get $2 off and free ice cream. The Modifieds, Pro Stocks, Super 4's, Dwarfs, and Mini-Stocks will be in action. Plus, it's also Moto-X Freestyle Night Presented by Medford Powersports featuring Justin "Airtime" Ayers.
STATE PARK SPEEDWAY
Returns to action on Thursday, June 10th with a 100-lap Super Late Model feature.
Nine classes will race at Thunderhill Raceway (Kyle, TX) this Saturday (June 5), and it will be Kyle Area Chamber of Commerce at the Races. In addition to the racing action, Dr. Danger Stunts will be presenting the Rollergirl Daredevil Stunts Spectacular by the TXRD Lonestar Rollergirls - including the Redneck Ring O'Fire, the 50-Yard Flash, Suicide Car Explosion and an Explosive Car Jump. The family-oriented atmosphere will return to the Midway area, with various food booths - including the famous Catfish Dinner by Clarence Vogel, along with kids' activities, such as inflatable bouncers and carousels. The fans can also interact with the drivers throughout the evening in the Drivers' Autograph Booth. Gates open at 4P, qualifying at 4:15P, opening ceremonies at 6P, followed by feature races by the TSRS Late Models, TSRS Allison Legacys, Pro Trucks, SportMods, NasKarts, ASA A-Line Super Stocks, Thunder Stocks, Grand Stocks and Mini Stocks.
TUCSON RACEWAY PARK
The racing action for this Saturday night has been cancelled. But it will return on Saturday, June 12th when the The Lucas Oil Modified Series will be competing in a 75-lap feature event.
VIRGINIA MOTOR SPEEDWAY
Bill Sawyer's Virginia Motor Speedway will take the weekend of June 5th off and return to racing on Saturday June 12th to host WXGM Night at the Races. The night's activities will include all four divisions of Army National Guard Dirt Series action. Fans will also be able to get a close look of Dale Earnhardt Jr's #88 National Guard Sprint Cup show car. It was announced that the speedway will honor those that serve and have served in our military the rest of the season by offering a $5 admission for all weekly events. The $5 admission is good for all active, retired, Guard, Reserve and their dependents when they present a valid military I.D.
It will be a Friday night shootout this weekend as the 410 Sprints, Street Stocks, Modifieds and Fearless 4's will be in action. Grandstands open at 5 p.m.
Wix Filters and Federated Auto Parts presents Saturday Night at the races. Featuring the 100 lap Race #4 of the Yakima Speedway Super Late Model Challenge Series presented by Yakima Implement in which teams are competing for their share of the $30,000 points fund. Also showcasing the Burger Ranch Sportsman, H & H Furniture Pure Stocks, CWI Security & EZ Credit Auto Sales Hornets & Youth Hornets. Gates open at 4pm, opening ceremonies at 6 pm side-by-side racing action to follow. Adults $13, Sr & Students $11, Kids 6-12 $4, 5 & Under are free
