ASA In Action This Weekend
Member Tracks and Tours Are Ready to Race This Week

For many, school is either out or just about to be out for the summer.  That means it's time for the family to get together and enjoy an evening of ASA Racing.  Here is a peak of what is happening this weekend.


(Hawkeye Downs Speedway, Cedar Rapids, IA)

The ASA Midwest Tour's only appearance in the state of Iowa will take place on Friday night at Hawkeye Downs Speedway in Cedar Rapids, IA and they are bringing the entire gang as the Super Late Model Series, Sportsman, and Trucks will all be in action this Friday night.  Steve Carlson will be going for his fourth Keith Fleck Miller 100 win in a row and Ross Kenseth hopes to make it two wins in a row after winning at Elko last Sunday.   

(Oshkosh SpeedZone, Oshkosh, WI)

The fast 410-Winged Sprints will be in action on two nights this weekend.  On Friday, they visit Oshkosh SpeedZone in Oshkosh, WI and then travel to Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, MN on Saturday.   


(Elon, NC)

It will be a busy weekend as they will have action on both Friday and Saturday night.  On Friday, it's Fallen Heroes Memorial Night with a full racing action including a flyover, fireworks and a Train Race plus more.  On Saturday, Ace Speedway will host their First Annual Tractor Pull with live music, food, motorcycles and more.

(Cheyenne, WY)

The fastest asphalt track in Wyoming will host another great evening of racing this Saturday night.  The Late Models, Grand American Mods, Warriors, Mod-4's, Micro Sprints, Super Stocks, and Circle Drags will all be in action starting at 6 p.m.

(Corpus Christi, TX)

The Bombers, Front Runners, Sport Mods, Super Street, Texas Thunders will be in action this Saturday night.  Gates open at 6:00 p.m. with racing at 8:00 p.m.

(Wisconsin Dells, WI)

It's Pepsi Night this Saturday night!!!  Late Models, Sportsman, Pure Stocks, Bandits & American Super Cups will be in action.  Pits open at 2 p.m., Fan gates open at 4 p.m. with qualifying at 4:30 p.m.  Racing at 6:30 p.m.

(Bradenton, FL)

Another action packed night racing is scheduled for this Saturday night.  The Hoosier Elite Supers will be in action for a 75-lap feature.  Also racing are the Flyin' 4's, Magic 4's, Bombers, Pure Stocks, Open Wheel Modifieds, and Fast Mini Cups.

(Dillon, SC)

A full program is slated for this Saturday night as Sellers Septic Tank will be sponsoring the racing action.  The Late Models, Chargers, Bombers, and 4-cylinders will be in action.  Please note that the race time start has been moved to 7:30 p.m.

(Tampa, FL)

ASA Sanctioned racing returns to East Bay Raceway Park on Saturday, June 12th, 2010 with the Racecar Engineering Late Models, East Bay Sprints, Limited Late Models, Precision Kia of Wesley Chapel Street Stocks, 4 cylinder bombers and the wet and wild Dirt Daubers.

Elma, WA

The North West Wingless Tour Sprints will be visiting this Saturday night.  Along with the Dwarf Cars, Hobby Stocks and Hornets.  It was just announced that the North West Wingless Sprint Tour will have an enhanced purse with $1,200 to win.

(Hartford, MI)

The SOD Sprint Cars will be visiting Hartford Motor Speedway this Friday night.  Joining them will be the UMP Modifieds and Stock Cars.  The Late Models and Pure Stocks have the night off.  General admission gates open at 5 p.m, hot laps for UMP Late Models, and Pure Stocks, racing begins at 8 p.m.   

(Littleton, CO)

The Scouts will be out in full force this Saturday night as it's Scout Appreciation Night.  All scouts in uniform, and under the age of 18, will get free admission.  Late Models, GA Modifieds, Sportsman, Street Stocks, and Hornets will be in action.  Grandstands open at 3 p.m.

(Schererville, IN)

The 8th Annual Food Drive has been re-scheduled for this Saturday night.  Bring in any non-perishable food item and receive tickets for a chance to win prizes and race tickets.  Six divisions will be in action this Saturday night.  The Late Models, Limited Late Models, Turbo Stox, Legends, Pure Stocks and Bandoleros will all be in action.  Gates open at 4:00 p.m. with the first race at 7:00 p.m.

(Lebanon, MO)

Carget Motors Late Model Dash 4 Cash is this Saturday night.  A full program scheduled with the gates opening at 5:00 p.m. and hot laps at 6:30 p.m.  Racing begins at 7:30 p.m.  

(Coeburn, VA)

Open wheel action will highlight the racing action this Saturday night as the USCS Asphalt Thunder Tour winged sprint cars will challenge the oval.  Plus, a full weekly racing program.  Racing gets underway at 7 p.m.   

(Oregon, WI)

The Friday Night Tradition will take place on Wisconsin's Fastest Half-Mile and their quarter-mile "Ring of Fire."  The Late Models, Area Sportsman, Hobby Stocks, Bandits and Legends will be in action.  Racing begins at 7:30 p.m.

(Meridian, ID)

Defending track champion Tom Hill of Eagle, Idaho, sets his sights on moving up in the Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil ASA Member Track National Championship standings with a double feature of the ESI Express ASA Modifieds at Meridian Speedway on Saturday.  Hill holds a 15-point lead over Nampa, Idaho's Shelby Stroebel in the Meridian Speedway series. The business owner whose company is the title sponsor for the Meridian series, Hill is third in the national track championship standings with 1.1785 points. Fellow western regional racer Clint LaFont from Thunderhill Raceway in Kyle, TX, leads the national standings with 1.4989.  The ASA Modifieds double main is part of EMS/Police/Fire and Corrections Officers Appreciation Night at Meridian. Also on tap are the NAPA Latemodel Sportsman, the Domino's Pizza Legends and Thunder Dogs.

(Norway, MI)

After a rainout last week, the first Friday night event of the 2010 season will take place this Friday night with the Late Models, Super Stocks, Slammers and Fab-4's in action sponsored by Stateline Apparel.  Time Trials at 6:00 p.m. with racing at 7:30 p.m.   

(San Bernardino, CA)

The JAM Sportswear Late Model drivers will resume their pursuit of an Orange Show Speedway title and the ASA Member Track National Championship Saturday night (June 12), when Best in the West Racing also welcomes the USAC Ford Focus Midgets and Jr. Focus Midgets for the first of three regular season events. The open-wheel racers will return to the historic quarter-mile paved oval on July 3 and Aug. 14. Rounding out this weekend's program are the Pick-A-Part Outlaw Figure 8s, Interstate Batteries Factory Fours and Pick-A-Part Street Stocks. Gates open to the public at 4 p.m., the on-track autograph session is from 5:50 to 6:30 p.m. and the first race is scheduled for 7 p.m.

(North Wichita Falls, TX)

It's Bounty Night this Saturday night.  There is a $100 bonus to any driver who can beat the points leader and win!  All of the regular classes are running.  You don't want to miss it.

(West Valley City, UT)

Short track fans are eager for another night of ASA Weekly Racing at Rocky Mountain Raceways as Maverik Modifieds, USAC Young Automotive Rocky Mountain Sprint Cars, Super Stocks, Figure 8 Cars and Western States Equipment Figure 8 Trains hit the track Saturday, June 12.  Former USAC Young Automotive Rocky Mountain Sprint Car Champions Jimmy Wysong and Jimmy Waters will be the sprint cars to watch at Saturdays event. Wysong and Waters have been posting fast lap times this season and have both placed in the top three in this year's two races. Wysong currently sits atop the point standings with a twenty point lead over Waters.  Maverik Modified's point leaders are also in close competition with only eighty-eight points separating the top five. Points leader Nick Parker and third in points, Mark Ith Jr. have both claimed a main event win. The remaining point leaders have secured top five finishes, proving that consistent racing is just as important for points as taking first place is in this series.  Gates open at 4pm. Qualifying begins at 5pm and racing starts at 6pm. Adult admission is $15 and Youth (5-12) $5.

(Tioga Center, NY)

The SpeedSTRs, open cockpit cars which created such a positive impression among Shangri-La II Motor Speedway racing fans in 2009, are set for their first of two appearances at the Concrete Castle on Hoosier Daddy Night presented by Hoosier Racing Tires this Saturday, June 12. Race time is 5:00 p.m. for the five-class ASA Member Track program that includes the headline tour-type Modifieds, the ASA Late Models, the Sportsman Modifieds, and the Street Stocks.

(Burlington, WA)

The dirt will be fast this Saturday night as its Round 9 of the Foothills Toyota Tundra Racing Series.  The fire breathing 360 & Sportsman Sprint Cars along with the Outlaw Hornets will be in action.  Gates open at 5:30 p.m. with racing at 7:00 p.m.

(Medford, OR)

Fox 26 KMVU TV Night at the Races this Saturday night.  The Golden State Challenge Sprint Car Series Western Speedweek will highlight the action.  $3,000 to win for the 410 Sprint Cars.  360 Sprint Cars and Super 4's are also in action.

(Wausau, WI)

The first leg of the Central Wisconsin Challenge Series Championship will highlight the racing action this Thursday night.  A 100-lap feature event for the Super Late Models plus the support divisions will also be in action.  Gates open at 4:30 p.m.  Racing at 7:15 p.m.

(Kyle, TX)

Returns to action on Saturday, June 20th with double feature events for the ASA A-Line Super Stocks.

(Tucson, AZ)

The Lucas Oil Modified Series comes to TRP this Saturday night.  They will be competing in a 75-lap feature event.  Also on tap, a 75-lap Super Late Model Open with two 50-lap races plus double features for all divsions. Gates open at 5 p.m., Autograph session at 6 p.m. and racing at 7 p.m.

(Saluda, VA)

Bill Sawyer's Virginia Motor Speedway will host WXGM Night at the Races this Saturday June 12th. The night's activities will include all four divisions of Army National Guard Dirt Series action. Fans will also be able to get a close look of Dale Earnhardt Jr's #88 National Guard Sprint Cup show car as it will be on display for during the evening's events.  It was announced that the speedway will continue with its $5 admission for all military at any of the speedway's weekly events for the remainder of the 2010 season. The $5 admission is for all active, retired, Guard, Reserve personnel and their dependents when they present a valid military I.D.  Competitor gates for Saturday, June 12th will open at 3pm with spectator gates opening at 4pm. On track activities will begin at 6:30pm with hot laps. Divisions scheduled to race on Saturday: Victory Lap Late Models (35 Laps); Truckin Thunder Sportsman (25 Laps); Budweiser Modifieds (25 Laps); and the Collision One Limited Stock Cars (20 laps). All divisions will run Hot Lap Time Trials and Features.  Admission price for Adults $10, seniors $8; military $5, students 13 - 17 years old $7, children 7 - 12 years old $4 and children 6 and under admitted free.

(Wilmot, WI)

The AMA All-Star Flat Track Motorcycles will be competing this Saturday night.  Grandstands open at 5 p.m.

(Yakima, WA)

NW Pro 4 Alliance, Super Streets, Outlaw Compacts, Hornets, and Bump to Pass are on the docket for this Saturday night.  Gates open at 4pm, opening ceremonies at 6 pm side-by-side racing action to follow. Adults $13, Sr & Students $11, Kids 6-12 $4, 5 & Under are free
