Smyrna Speedweeks to Be Focus for Two Weeks on Top Short Track Racing Site
"We are very fortunate to have one of the best short track websites involved with our program," said Joe Lewandowski, Marketing Director of New Smyrna Speedway. "It is great to have Speed51.com involved with us because of the information it provides, especially to those that cannot get down here. This is the computer age and if people can’t get here this year, hopefully they will read it on Speed51.com and come next year. Plus, fans want to know who won as soon as the race gets over, and with Speed51.com, the information is available for the diehard fans across the country."
From Friday, February 6th, through Saturday, February 14th, New Smyrna Speedway will be one of the busiest facilities in the country, with numerous racers competing in nearly ten divisions of racing throughout the week-and-a-half program.
"For the asphalt racing Modified junkie, we have three types of Modifieds," explained Lewandoski. "We have the NASCAR Tour-Type Modifieds, the SK Modifieds and the Florida-type Modifieds. For the Late Model junkies, we have Super Late Models, Late Models and Crate/ASA-type Late Models. Also, our Florida Trucks will be running two or three nights here, and the fastest cars you will ever see on an asphalt track, the Winged Sprint Cars, will run Sunday night and Monday night, which will take your breath away."

Racers get an itch about this time of year, an itch to go racing again. Instead of just scratching that itch, pavement racers from all over the country will make the trek to Florida to compete in the "World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing" at New Smyrna Speedway from February 6th thru the 14th. Today track officials announced that Speed51.com, the nation’s leading pavement short track racing website, will be the “Official Site of the 43rd Annual World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing” for all nine nights of racing.
And, of course, all of it will be seen, for the seventh straight year, on Speed51.com, presented by Ocean Properties, the leading vacation rental management company in Daytona Beach and New Smyrna Beach.
"There are certain events every year where we really get the chance to showcase what Speed51.com can do, and Speedweeks at New Smyrna is definitely one of those occasions," said Speed51.com Editor Mike Twist. "Not everyone can make it to Florida, so we do our best to try and make fans all across the country feel like they are right there at the track. I'm very excited about this year's coverage, because in addition to the great Modified and Super Late Model races, we're seeing the Crate Late Model class draw some great entries. The races at New Smyrna keep getting better and better every season, and we love that we are a part of what goes on down there."
Speed51.com's Trackside Now feature has become the leader in instant updates from the track over the years, so much so that many series and tracks across the country request Speed51.com to come to their venue and cover their events and provide more exposure for their product. Most weekends throughout the season, Speed51.com highlights an event for Trackside Now updates from the track, and now with the Speed51.com Short Track Message Boards on MotorsportsLounge.com, fans can read about the action as well as interact in the forums before, during and after the events at the track.
"In December, during and after the Snowball Derby in Pensacola, Florida, we were flooded with compliments on our Trackside Now coverage of the events," said Speed51.com Correspondent Jason Buckley, who also owns MotorsportsLounge.com. "We also received plenty of praises after our coverage of SpeedFest 2009 at Lanier National Speedway (GA). Now we’ll be at New Smyrna Speedway, and fans can follow along on Speed51.com, as well as post and interact on MotorsportsLounge.com in real time as the action happens on the track. We absolutely enjoy providing the information to the fans that cannot make it to the track, and I am looking forward to nine days of racing action at New Smyrna."
Since 2001, Speed51.com has been the home for short track news and behind-the-scenes stories from series all around the country. From ARCA and NASCAR's Touring Divisions, to Super Late Model and Modified series’ from all across the country and much more.
