Changes Come for 22nd Annual North East Motorsports Expo
Augusta, Maine Show is Under New Management
In all successful establishments, change can be viewed as a good thing. The 22nd Annual North East Motorports Expo under went a change in hands in 2009. SP2 Promotions, a dual operation run by Mainely Motorsport's Steve Perry and Pullen Heavy Industries owner Scott Pullen, have taken on the task of making the North East Motorsports Expo an even bigger success in 2010. Basically, the only thing staying the same this year at the North East Motorsports Expo is the venue. For the 22nd consecutive year it will be held at the Augusta Civic Center, in Augusta Maine. Former owner Tim Attaya led the North East Motorsports Expo into prosperity over its 21 years of existence.
Over the years, the Expo has generated appearances by headliners such as; The Intimidator himself Dale Earnhardt Sr., The King Richard Petty and even 2009 Sprint Cup Rookie of the Year Joey Logano.
The 2010 North East Motorsports Expo will not accentuate a Sprint Cup Series driver or owner; it will employ the services of a "behind-the-scenes" NASCAR star. Behind every driver is a team and support system that contributes to his success. 2009 Nationwide Series Champion Kyle Busch could not have achieved triumph in his career without long time spotter and manager Jeff Dickerson.
Those of you, who are familiar with Kyle "Rowdy" Busch, know that it's a complex job managing such a super star and being Busch's spotter on top of it should be a job for an army instead of one man. Dickerson not only spots for Busch in his Nationwide Series gig, he also spots for him in the Camping World Truck Series, Sprint Cup series as well as any Super Late Model event Busch participates in. Dickerson has graciously agreed to share his knowledge and expertise in a series of seminars throughout the weekend of January 8th, 9th and 10th at the North East Motorsports Expo. The seminars will be presented by Racing Electronics and for more information and registrations please go to www.northeastmotorsports.net.
At this years Expo, you will find a wide variety of "Motorsports" being represented at the Augusta Civic Center. Snowcross will be represented by Rave X Motorsports, who will have some of their "sled-neck" gear for purchase. COM Sports Car Club will be on hand for those of you who enjoy something a little bit faster than what you see at your local track. The Maine Vintage Organization's Mobile Museum will be in attendance; this one of a kind museum on wheels represents some of Maine's finest drivers throughout the decades. Lastly, if you like racing in the dirt and on two wheels, the Maine Motocross Series will also participate in this years Motorsports Expo.
On top of new vendors participating in the 22nd Annual North East Motorsports Expo, there will be many new and returning exhibitors. The American Canadian Tour will be welcomed back to the Augusta Civic Center for the 2010 expo. There will be a special appearance by the Sunoco Racing Fuel's “American ChopperT”, a custom bike designed by the guys of Orange County Choppers. This chopper was unveiled to benefit and raise money for the Victory Junction Gang Camp.
