Pro Shocks Shock of the Week
This Week's Big Surprise in Short Track Racing
As Decided by the Staff of

Every week, our esteemed panel at will determine the most improbable, fascinating or "shocking" moment from the week and award the Pro Shocks "Shock of the Week."  The winner each week will receive a product gift certificate from Pro Shocks, the leader in short track shock technology and performance.  At the end of the season, the most "shocking" moment will be awarded the "Shock of the Year" and the winning driver will receive a special gift from Pro Shocks.

For this week's "Shock of the Week..."
There were plenty of proven stars at this year's Easter Bunny 150.  Ben Rowe, Jeff Fultz, Corey Williams, Johnny Clark, Heath Hindman and Michael Pope are all Super Late Model standouts.  Ryan Moore is a former NASCAR Busch North Series Rookie of the Year.  Aric Almirola has been competing in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.  There were plenty of the best short trackers in the United States assembled at Hickory.

And the shock was that they almost all got beaten by a Canadian.

Lonnie Sommerville impressed our panel enough to be named as the Pro Shock "Shock of the Week" winner.  Sommerville, an accomplished driver in the Canadian Maritimes, ran up front all night at Hickory in his first apparance at the track.  Any hope of an upset victory was ended early though due to a broken shock mount.  Shocking huh?

Aric Almirola also received votes for being able to overcome a late race bump with the wall to hang on to third place in the Easter Bunny 150.  Johanna Long recieved an honorable mention for winning her first Blizzard Series race at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola (although we can't all say that we were that suprised to see her win at her home track) and some joker voted the award to the Allison Legacy Series for the fact that they ran so clean at Hickory when in years past, their feature has been somewhat of a wreckfest.

For his “Shock” of a performance, Sommerville will receive a product gift certificate from Pro Shocks, the short-track leader in racing shock technology and performance.  Based in Lawrenceville, Georgia, Pro Shocks has helped drivers on both dirt and asphalt perform better for more than 25 years.
