Pro Shocks Shock of the Week
This Week's Big Surprise in Short Track Racing
As Decided by the Staff of Speed51.com

Every week, our esteemed panel at Speed51.com will determine the most improbable, fascinating or "shocking" moment from the week and award the Pro Shocks "Shock of the Week."  The winner each week will receive a product gift certificate from Pro Shocks, the leader in short track shock technology and performance.  At the end of the season, the most "shocking" moment will be awarded the "Shock of the Year" and the winning driver will receive a special gift from Pro Shocks.

For this week's "Shock of the Week..."
Casey Roderick has taken to the ARCA RE/MAX Series like a duck to water.

In his first ever ARCA race, and just really one year removed from Legends cars, Roderick put the hammer down in Sunday's event at Rockingham Speedway and came away with a runner-up finish.  Roderick wasn't intimidated by going fender-to-fender with this year's ARCA champion Justin Lofton either.

That performance earned Casey Roderick this week's Speed51.com Pro Shocks Shock of the Week award.

Prior to the race, we would have thought that Roderick was capable of a decent run and that just finishing the race and gaining experience would make for a good day for him.  We never dreamed that he'd be finishing second and that's why we are shocked.

Also receiving votes this week were:

Tom Thomas (CRA) - Actually, there was only one other driver who got any votes for the Pro Shock award this week and that was Tom Thomas.

Thomas, in just his fourth CRA Super Series start, drove Tim Steele's #16 Super Late Model right into victory lane on Saturday night at Berlin Speedway (MI).  He beat the series big guns - Scott Hantz, Johnny Van Doorn and Rick Campbell along with the Berlin Father-and-Son force of Fred and Brian Campbell - to win.  That was a shock to our voters as well.

For his “Shock” of a performance, Roderick will receive a product gift certificate from Pro Shocks, the short-track leader in racing shock technology and performance.  Based in Lawrenceville, Georgia, Pro Shocks has helped drivers on both dirt and asphalt perform better for more than 25 years.
