ASA LM Race To Be Heard Live on RaceTalkRadio.com on July 4th
Speed51.com / 51 Sports PR Report
Speed 51 Radio, in partnership with RaceTalkRadio.com, ASA Late Models and Rockingham Speedway, announced today that it will broadcast the Cherry Bomb 200 on Saturday, July 4th at the famed Rockingham Speedway in North Carolina.  The ASA Late Model Challenge Series will make history by being the first straight-railed Late Model Series to race the high banks as a part of the “Cherry Bomb 200”.  Speed 51 Radio will provide flag-to-flag coverage of the ASA race and if time allows, the Frank Kimmel Street Stock National race as well.

“I’m very excited to have Speed 51 Radio at Rockingham to broadcast the race live for all the fans,” said Ron Varney, President of the ASA Late Model Series.  “This will give listeners a great opportunity to hear just how exciting our races are and why we are “America’s Premier Short Track Series”.

Speed51.com’s Elgin Traylor (aka ‘Stat Boy”) will have the call with Speed TV personality Derrick Pernesiglio.   They will provide all the action, live from “The Rock” on Saturday morning.  Estimated time for going live on RaceTalkRadio.com is 11am, but the 51 Mafia could go as early as 10am for the start of the Street Stock race if time allows.

Following the conclusion of the Street Stock race will be the ASA Late Model Challenge event.  Big name drivers such as point leader Drew Brannon, Midwest young gun Chris Eggleston, former All-American 400 winner Brian Campbell, Northeast standout DJ Shaw, Nationwide Series driver Stephen Leicht and 2008 Champion Peter Cozzolino are all on the expected to be on hand.

“If the race is anything like the test we are in for an exciting event with lots of side by racing,” said Varney.  “Hoosier has done a great job with the tires and the teams can concentrate on their cars and not worry tire wear.”

“This is just another notch in the belt for Speed 51 Radio and RaceTalkRadio.com,” said 51 Sports Corporate Manager, Jason Buckley.  “This type of car on the high-banks of ‘The Rock” is going to be exciting.  Hopefully you will be at the track, but if you can’t make it, now you have the opportunity to listen to the racing live while enjoying a backyard barbecue to celebrate Independence Day.”
