Speed51.com Is Once Again Official Site Of Smyrna Speedweeks
Trackside Now Coverage To Take On A Bigger Role in 2008 Speedweeks Coverage
Over the last several years, when it comes to the nine nights of racing that goes on every year in February at New Smyrna Speedway in Florida, those that can’t make the trip down to “Smyrna Speedweeks” have been able to turn on their computer and log onto Speed51.com to see what is going on at the track.  Together, the combination of Smyrna Speedweeks and 51 have become a force to be reckoned with.
And 2008 won’t be any different.  Once again, Speed51.com will be at New Smyrna Speedway during all nine nights of the “World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing,” with extensive reports that will fans will only get from the Nation’s Leading Asphalt Short Track Racing website.

“We are really happy to have Speed51.com involved again this year with our Smyrna Speedweeks,” said New Smyrna Speedway General Manager Terry Roberts.  “Every year, they have stepped up their coverage with us and they have been able to let the fans at home know what is happening, and that has really helped boost Speedweeks in the eyes of the general short track fan who might have before never really paid that much attention because they couldn’t make it down here.”

The growth that Speedweeks and Speed51.com have down for each other works both ways.

“Every year, there are two events that really define the season at Speed51.com; the Snowball Derby and Smyrna Speedweeks,” said Mike Twist, Speed51.com Editor.  “With the addition of the extremely popular Trackside Now web pages, which really debuted at Speedweeks last year, this year’s coverage from New Smyrna Speedway will be even more indepth.  We are going to do some things different this time around, but in the end, we think it will give the fans even more of a feeling of ‘being at the track.’”

One of the biggest changes that will come from the coverage this year will be the expanded version of Trackside Now.  The website will cover the races every night with the Trackside Now feature running from when the first cars hit the track.  Instead of separate stories each night from the track that don’t get published until the following mornings, Trackside Now will be the first place to find all the race reports, with news, notes, quotes and results all dotting the Trackside Now landscape.

“The extended Trackside Now coverage worked wonders during our Snowball Derby coverage this past year,” added Twist.  “It was our way of getting more information out there in a more timely manner.  Before, you might get the results of a race story the night it happened, but had to wait until the next afternoon to really find out what happened.  Now, you will be able to read all of the quotes and hear all of the stories that same night, just moments after it happens.”
Speed51.com reporters will once again bring fans everything that is happening at Speedweeks right there on the computer.
Speed51.com will still bring fans in-depth stories following the Richie Evans Memorial 100 for the Tour-Type Modifieds on Friday night, February 15 and the Pete Orr Memorial 100 on Saturday night, February 16.  Speed51.com will also have stories on the series individual champions, along with plenty of Leftovers gathered over the nine nights of competition that will be posted shortly following the end of competition.

Speed51.com has become a leader in online Motorsports information by focusing on the Short Track Racing realm.  51 realized nearly five years ago that there was a void in the industry for news and behind-the-scenes stories.  Now, 51 is viewed by thousands of fans per day.  The site fuels your Short Track appetite for NASCAR's Grand National Divisions, NASCAR Modified Tours, the USAR Pro Cup Series, and Super Late Models from all across the country and much more.

51 Sports, publisher of Speed51.com, is continually signing up clients for its Sports Services and Web Design work for 2008 and beyond.  51 offers everything from single-time press releases to full campaigns, website development and much more.  If you are interested in finding out more, please contact us at www.speed51.com or through Jeremy Troiano at (704) 788-2134.
