Quarter Master Clutch Performance of the Week
Who Performed the Best In the Clutch This Week?
Chris Pasteryak
True Value Modified Series
#15 CCP Racing, INC.

A week full of clutch performances fittingly made for the closest voting ever among our esteemed panel for the Quarter Master Clutch Performance of the Week.  Several drivers received votes, but two, Chris Pasteryak and Alex Haase, got an overwhelming majority of the votes to themselves.

But, it took until the very deadline of voting for a winner to nose ahead.  By the slimmest of margins, the Quarter Master Clutch Performance of the Week goes to a familiar name in the Modified ranks – Chris Pasteryak.

Clutch is finishing seventh at Twin State Speedway (NH) last weekend, clinching the championship for a family deeply rooted in Modified racing in the Northeast.  But, doing so with a couple strong runs to close out the year after destroying the car at Thompson is truly coming through when it counts.

Alex Haase did his part to come through in the clutch, just like Pasteryak.  Haase overcame a blown tire in the PASS South finale at South Boston (VA) to finish 12th, thus securing his first PASS South title.  Haase did his part on the track and our panel noticed, but the Kyle Busch Motorsports driver came up a few tallies short in this week’s voting for the Clutch Performance to Pasteryak

Also receiving votes this week were UARA-Stars Champion Jake Crum, Mason-Dixon 500 winners Johnny Clark (PASS South) and Phillip Morris (LMSC), and Birmingham World Classic winner Justin South.

Quarter Master salutes Chris Pasteryak on this week’s Quarter Master Clutch Performance of the Week.
Performing in the clutch is what seperates a winning driver from the rest of the pack.  Flexing muscle at the right time is something that true talents posess.  Often luck plays a big role in winning versus losing, but being able to squeeze just enough strength out at the perfect opportunity is what separates winners from losers.  Performing in the clutch doesn't necessarily mean winning, however; it's all about making the most from what you've got.

That's why Quarter Master, providers of winning clutches & driveline components to racers from Super Speedway to the Bullring, from IRL to Rally, from NASCAR to the "Weekend Warrior," is proud to honor a weekly "Clutch Performance of the Week" from the short track ranks of America.  Each week, an esteemed panel of short track industry insiders will vote on which drivers came through in the clutch.  The driver or team with the most votes will then be the "Clutch Performance of the Week."  At the end of the 2008 season, the driver or team that received the most votes throughout the season will then be the "Clutch Performer of the Year" and will be awarded a clutch kit from Quarter Master, valued at $3,500.
