CRA Super Series To Be Well Represented At 41st Annual Snowball Derby CRA PR Report
Scott Hantz will be one of many CRA regulars at the Snowball Derby.
Snowball Derby Qualifying races for starting positions 31 through 36 along with the Allen Turner Snowflake 100. The 41st Annual Snowball Derby will take the green flag at 2pm on Sunday. CRA fans can follow all the Snowball Derby action with live up dates on Trackside Now at www.Speed51.com.
The CRA Super Series will be well represented in this weekends 41st Annual Snowball Derby at the Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida. Led by 2008 Champion Scott Hantz, there is a strong group of series regulars and part-time competitors pre-entered for one of the most prestigious short track races in the country. In 2008 Hantz became the series all time wins leader and became the only driver to have won the series title three times, breaking both records that were previously held by Brian Ross. Hantz will be attempting to make his third start in the Snowball Derby, last year he looked to be on his way to possible top five finish until pit stop troubles got him late in the event giving him a ninth place finish.
Series regulars JR Roahrig and Jack Landis are also entered for this years Snowball Derby, both competed in last years event. Other drivers who made multiple starts with the CRA Super Series in 2008 that are entered include Mitch Cobb, Jeff Fultz, Dennis Schoenfeld, Justin Drawdy winner of the season ending Southern Slam 250, John Long, Tim Curry, Donnie Wilson, Stanley Smith, Alex Haase, Ryan Crane and Johanna Long. Other drivers who made at least one start in a CRA event this season that are entered include Eddie Mercer, Augie Grill, Gary Helton, Heath Hindman, John Bolen, Scott Carlson, Wayne Anderson and Shane Sieg. Landis, Johanna Long, John Long, Crane, Grill, Bolen and series part-time competitor Jack Smith are all entered for the 100 lap Snowflake event on Saturday.
Teams had hauler parking and tech on Wednesday, today will be the first action on the track with practice sessions. Practice will continue on Friday with Snowball Derby qualifying Friday evening to lock in the top 30 starters. On Saturday there will be 50 lap
