Bagwell Clinches 2007 ISCARS Championship - In June, 2008! Series PR Report
Postponement of Final '07 Race Leads to Long Wait for Title Fight
Danny Bagwell of Cordova (AL) has been named Champion of the International Sport Compact Auto Racing Series (ISCARS) DASH Touring, Sanctioned by American Speed Association (ASA).
ISCARS DASH Touring, formerly the NASCAR Goody’s DASH Series, was forced to postpone the final event from 2007, thus delaying the crowning of the 2007 Champion until the first event of 2008.

While Danny Bagwell held a significant lead over Joey Miller in the 2007 Championship points, Miller had a mathematical chance to collect enough points to overtake Bagwell. ISCARS felt it best to settle the Championship on the track and therefore withheld extending the honors until the first race of 2008 held at Florence Motor Speedway in Florence, SC last Friday, June 6th.

ISCARS held two 75 lap races, the first being scored as the final event of 2007 and also the first event of 2008. Joey Miller won the first race but Bagwell was right on his tail. By virtue of his finish Bagwell was successful in protecting his points lead and was declared the Official Champion of the Series.

Bagwell went on to win the second 75 lap event enhancing his impressive resume.
Bagwell now has 13 career wins and his first Series Championship to add to his prestigious win at Daytona International Speedway in 2004.

“We are certainly proud to have Danny Bagwell represent our series. He is a true Champion on and off the track,” says Randy Claypoole, President/CEO of ISCARS.

The DASH Series, which began in 1975 at North Wilkesboro Speedway in North Carolina under the sanction of NASCAR, boasts a rich history of talent from Alabama. The late Davey Allison drove in the series. Hut Stricklin collected eleven wins and a Series Championship during his tenure.

Bagwell and ISCARS DASH Touring resume action on July 12 at Dillon Motor Speedway in South Carolina. The following day the series heads to the famed Rockingham Speedway for a private test considered a stepping stone to return the series to some of the bigger tracks throughout the southeast region.  For more information on Danny Bagwell and ISCARS DASH Touring, log onto
