Saturday, 11:35am ET - UARA practice is still going on without a hitch.  Most teams are doing normal maintenance and trying to get their cars a little faster.  We've spotted Jamie Yelton, a LMSC veteran who was not here at Bristol in UARA's first visit here two weeks back, having some tire issues that seem to have been resolved now.  Kevin Leicht's team has spent most of the practice working on the #32 machine making wholesale changes in the suspension.

There's just about one hour remaining in UARA practice.  A quick glance at some unofficial time sheets have the usual suspects getting around Bristol the quickest.  B.J. Mackey, Brandon Dean, Alex Yontz, John Gottsacker and Wade Day are once again at or near the top of the times.  We'll have official times after practice.

The Pro Challenge driver's meeting has just wrapped up, as well.  Pro Challenge Officials have penalized Shaun Cain's #00 and Trent Mayo's #9 to the rear of the field for tonight's 30-lap feature for being late for the driver's meeting.  Sixteen cars are here for the Pro Challenge race, which will be the third time (2004, 2005, 2007) that Pro Challenge has been to Bristol.

Saturday, 9:24am ET - It’s already a hot and sunny morning here in the foothills of Tennessee, where today the UARA-Stars Late Model Stock tour are making their second stop at historic Bristol Motor Speedway in the last three weeks.  Tonight’s 150-lap event is the third of three-straight Late Model series races here at the newly-resurfaced half-mile, following the first UARA race two weeks back and last week’s ASA Late Model Challenge Series feature.

Also in attendance with UARA here today is the Aaron’s Pro Challenge Series.  Those of you who may not be familiar with the Pro Challenge machines, they are three-quarter scale replicas of NASCAR-style cars and trucks.  Most in the field are powered by Kawasaki 1100 or 1200cc motorcycle engines, while others are utilizing the new four-cylinder Ford powerplants.

The Pro Challenge machines are on track currently for their lone practice of the day from 9am to 10am.  UARA teams will have their only practice of the day from 10am-12:30pm.  Pro Challenge qualifying is set for 1pm, while the UARA machines will take their two laps of time trails at 3:15.  Pro Challenge feature time is 4:30pm, with the 150-lap UARA feature to take the green flag shortly after the Pro Challenge race ends.

An afternoon-long practice was held Friday here at Bristol for both divisions.  UARA point leader B.J. Mackey was quickest in both practice rounds, while Brandon Dean was second-quick in both as well.  Alex Yontz, the winner of the UARA event at Bristol two weeks ago, was fourth quickest in the first session and sixth in the second.

NASCAR Busch East Series rookie and fourth-generation driver Jeffrey Earnhardt spun his #1 Tam Topham-owned machine and had to go to a backup car for the final rounds of practice Friday, but the team has made the mostly cosmetic repairs to the primary piece and Earnhardt will be utilizing that one for today’s event.  Also, Pro Challenge National Championship contender Dean McIntyre cut a tire going into the first turn late in the day.  The the veteran PC racer kept his #9 off the wall and is back here today to try to gain on the title as National Point leader Kyle Mitchell is not in attendance.

We’ll have more on all these stories and much more throughout the day here at Bristol.  For now, here are yesterday’s UARA practice times.

SECOND ROUND
FIRST ROUND
Saturday, 1:20pm ET - UARA practice has concluded and Brandon Dean was quickest.  Flash back to two weeks ago when Dean was also quickest in final pre-qualifying practice.  Then between practice and qualifying, it started to rain and washed out time trials, leaving Dean without a starting spot.  Today, though, there is no chance for rain and Dean figures to be a threat in qualifying and in the race.  Matt McCall, Alex Yontz, Stephen Gahagan, Jr. and Payne Pickles were the top-five fastest in practice.

Pro Challenge qualifying is on the track now.  After PC time trials, there will be a brief intermission before UARA qualifying at 3:30pm

FINAL UARA PRACTICE
Brandon Dean's quick machine.
Saturday, 6:39pm ET - Mark Setzer has won the UARA 150 at Bristol over Jake Crum and Alex Yontz.  Stay tuned for more.

Saturday, 6:39pm ET - Mark Setzer was cruising towards the white flag here at Bristol, but the caution flag waved before he could see the white for John Gottsacker's crash in turn one.  The yellow closes Jake Crum and Alex Yontz up to Setzer's bumper on the restart.

Saturday, 6:20pm ET - We're under a red flag on lap 121.  Roger Lee Newton had a tire going down and spun in turn four.  When he tried to collect it, he hit Andy Johnson, who slammed the inside wall.  As Newton spun, Jeffrey Earnhardt slowed on the track to wait for Newton to slide down the track, but Lucas Ransone couldn't woah up in time and slammed Earnhardt into Newton's car.  All drivers were checked in the Infield Care Center, but all drivers are okay.

Setzer still leads over Crum, Yontz, Kile, Furr and Tissot.

Once the red was lifted, UARA points leader BJ Mackey hit pit road and the crew is investigating a possible engine problem.

Saturday, 6:07pm ET - Lap 104 and the caution is out for Matt McCall, who spun his #30 in turn three and has lost second place.  That bumps Jake Crum up to second, followed by Yontz, Kile and Furr.

Saturday, 6:03pm ET - Lap 100, 50 to go and Mark Setzer still holds the lead over Matt McCall, Jake Crum, Alex Yontz, Mikey Kile, Ross Furr and Lee Tissot

Saturday, 5:50pm ET - We've hit the 1/3 mark here at Bristol and Mark Setzer currently shows the way.  Setzer got by McCall on a  lap 19 restart after Pickles' caution.  It's currently Setzer, McCall, Jake Crum, Alex Yontz and Mikey Kile.

Saturday, 5:20pm ET - Lap 13 and the caution is out for pole winner Payne Pickles' blown engine n turn twoTop-five are McCall, Mark Setzer, Alex Yontz, Mikey Kile and BJ Mackey.

Saturday, 5:08pm ET - The green flag is out for the 150-lap UARA race and Matt McCall has led from the get-go.

Saturday, 5:08pm ET - Corey LaJoie had to start at the rear of the field, worked his way up to the front and had to fight off a fuel pick-up problem late in the race to win the 30-lap Pro Challenge feature.  LaJoie battled door-to-door with Terry Horak for the win with less than 10-laps to go, but LaJoie was too tough on the high groove and took the win at a track that his two-time Busch Championship winning dad Randy never won o

Saturday, 4:34pm ET - Payne Pickles has scored the pole for tonight's 150-lap UARA event at Bristol.  Officials are sorting out the provisionals as we speak, but here are the top-28 qualifiers.  There will be four provisionals awarded based on UARA owner's points.  Times are not currently available from UARA officials, but here are the names...

Officials have announced the provisionals go to Daniel Pope, Junior Franks, Matt Leicht and Robbie Ferguson, meaning Brandon Dean was quickest in practice and failed to make the race for the second-straight time at Bristol.

Pro Challenge feature is on track now...stay tuned for updates.

Corey LaJoie's #711
Saturday, 3:00pm ET - We've got an update on the Corey LaJoie penalty...LaJoie's #711 had fuel purchased at the track today at Bristol mixed in his fuel cell with pump-fuel like you'd find at the local store that the team put in the car for a chassis dyno session earlier in the week.  The fuel mixture offered no competitive advantage or disadvantage, but having anything other than Sunoco Race Fuel in a Pro Challenge car is against the rules, putting LaJoie to the rear.

Saturday, 2:32pm ET - "Supershoe" Corey LaJoie set fast time for the 30-lap Aaron's Pro Challenge Series feature, but in post-qualifying tech, LaJoie was found to have an illegal fuel mixture in his #711 and has been forced to start at the rear of the field.  Pro Challenge Rookie of the Year contender Terry Horak was second-quick and will start on the front row along with Tripp Massengill after LaJoie's penalty.

Despite the infraction, LaJoie has some help with some serious credentials helping him here at Bristol this weekend.  His dad, two-time NASCAR Busch Series Champion Randy LaJoie is here and the young driver is also getting the help of NASCAR Grand National Division phenom Joey Logano.  Legends Car standout Paddy Rodenbeck has also been spotted roaming the pit area.

Adding to the short track drivers here in non-driving roles, NASCAR Busch East Series driver Charles Lewandoski is here spotting for Jeffrey Earnhardt, just as he has been so far in 2007 on the BES while he searches for a ride of his own.  Pro Cup Champion Shane Huffman was in attendance here yesterday and the most recent Pro Cup Winner (Hickory) Trevor Bayne is here today.

Saturday, 6:39pm ET - It may have taken upwards of three seasons, but Mark Setzer has finally won a UARA-Stars Late Model Stock series race.  This one wasn't easy, however, as he had to hold off an eager Jake Crum (who like Setzer had a good car in the first UARA race at Bristol two weeks ago only to have the win slip away) and Alex Yontz, the winner of the race two weeks back, on a final green-white-checkered restart for the victory.

We'll have more from Bristol later in the week.
