Speed51.com Has Your Ticket to Summer Blockbuster Races
It's a National-Klash-Open-250 Kind of Weekend Around Here
This week is all about Summer Blockbusters at Speed51.com.  But we’re not talking about the type of drama or comedy that involves Bruce Willis or that kid who plays Harry Potter; we’re focusing on the short track racing variety of drama with the cars and the people who pilot them as the stars.  Whether it is a Late Model, Super Late Model, Busch East machine or Modified, at the “Klash,” “Nationals,” “Open,” or “250,” Speed51.com has it covered for race fans.
Last year, Matt Kenseth won the Slinger Nationals.  He's also raced in the TD Banknorth 250 at Oxford as well.  Both of those short track classics are set for this weekend and we'll have all fo the stories right here on Speed51.com
Over the next five days, Speed51.com will have writers and photographers at various tracks all over the land to tell you stories of short track racing.

Speed51.com’s “Trackside Now” feature (instant news updates from at the track) will focus on two races over three days this week.  On Wednesday, we’ll bring you up-to-the-date reports from the “Kalamazoo Klash” Outlaw Late Model event at Kalamazoo Speedway in Michigan.  On Saturday and Sunday, Speed51.com will feature “Trackside Now” live from Oxford Plains Speedway (ME) for the TD Banknorth 250.  Both events are rich in history and we are expecting at least two to three times more cars than there are starting spots in their feature races, so you won’t want to miss a moment of drama from the track.

“Every year in the history of the Oxford 250 is significant, but this year promises to have even more storylines,” said Speed51.com Editor Mike Twist, who will be covering the race.  “The Super Late Models are out and the Late Models are in this year.  The pool of those cars around New England and Canada is in the hundreds, so until the pit gates swing open on Saturday morning, you just don’t know who will be showing up to race.  It’s a true open show
with some big money and even more prestige on the line, so anything can, and probably will happen this weekend… and you can follow along right at home with Speed51.com’s ‘Trackside Now’ coverage.”

“If you can’t get pumped up for Outlaw-bodied Super Late Models blistering around one of the nicest short tracks in the country, full of drivers vying for a $30,000-plus winner’s purse in an 157-lap ‘Kalamazoo Klash,’ check your pulse,” said Speed51.com’s Matt Kentfield.  “The ‘Kalamazoo Klash’ is an event that everyone here at 51 has always wanted to cover, so I’m pretty amped up about being the one to bring all the action to the fans that can’t make it to the track with ‘Trackside Now’ on Wednesday.  There will be more than 70 cars there trying to beat last year’s winner Johnny Benson and take their share of that huge payday, so it’s going to be an intense night at ‘the Zoo’ and I can’t wait to bring it to the masses on Speed51.com.”

But that’s not where it stops.  Speed51.com will also bring you race reports from the Slinger Nationals (Super Late Model event) in Wisconsin, the IWK 250 PASS North race in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, the ASA Late Model Challenge Series event at Motor Mile Speedway in Virginia, the NASCAR Busch East Series event at Nashville, TN as well as Blizzard Series (Pensacola, FL) and Mobile (AL) Super Late Model races down south.  Want some Modified action too?  How about the full story from the Open Wheel Wednesday open show at Seekonk Speedway (MA), plus news of the RoC’s feature at Oswego Speedway (NY) and reports from the first visit of the True Value Modified Racing Series to Oxford?  We’ll have all of that as well.

So before you head out the door to your favorite racetrack this weekend, and immediately when you get back home, be sure to check out Speed51.com.  We’ll have a lot to tell you about from all of the races that you can’t make it to this weekend.
