Early Race Wreck Takes Out Favorites, Including Matt Martin
For half of the 50-lap FASCAR Pro Truck feature at Speedfest on Friday night, Cale Gale waited patiently for his chance to overtake Dalton Zehr. Through early restarts, Gale waited for Zehr’s slipup before he could make his move. Eventually Gale just got sick of waiting and made the pass on lap 32 and went on to dominate the remainder of the 50-lap feature.
Gale started his Speedfest Friday on a high note by setting fast time in qualifying, but the youngster who spends his weekdays as shock specialist for Phoenix Racing’s Busch and Cup Series efforts, had to start third due to a redraw. Gale peppered Zehr’s bumper for 30 laps, then jumped to the inside machine off the second corner on lap 32 and had the pass made by the third turn. It was Gale’s second straight Speedfest Pro Truck win.
